On March 25, 2025, the Institutional Review Board of the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized a workshop on “Human Research Ethics in Social Science Research: From Theory to Practice” at the Prachasangkom Udompathana Room (101), 1st floor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University. The workshop was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Deputy Director for Research, who delivered the opening remarks. The objective of the workshop was to disseminate key guidelines and issues in human research ethics and to raise ethical awareness among participants. The event featured a special lecture by Professor Emeritus Dr. Pramote Prasartkul on “Ethical Guidelines for Human Research and Ethics for Social Science Researchers,” followed by a presentation by Associate Professor Dr. Sirinan Kittisuksathit on “Application of Research Ethics Principles to Social Science Research,” and a joint session by Associate Professor Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing and Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong on “Ethical Challenges in Digital Age Research.” In addition, a workshop session on “Case Study Analysis of Ethical Challenges in Social Science Research” allowed 30 participants to engage in experience-sharing and learning through real-life scenarios, with Associate Professor Dr. Charamporn Holumyong serving as the moderator throughout the session.
